All About Coach Peay:
7I am a proud Murfreesboro native. I attended Kittrell Elementary School (K-8), Oakland High School, and Middle Tennessee State University. I played basketball and softball all through elementary and high school. I also went to MTSU on a softball scholarship. I treasure my athletic career. I feel that it and wonderful parental support molded me in to who I am today. I learned valuable life-long lessons about responsibility, cooperation, goals, being flexible and respecting others. My experiences with children have been working at Northfield’s ESP (extended school program) for 5 years while I was in college, teaching 5th and 6th grade at Northfield Elementary for 11 years, and the last 7 years at Oakland Middle. I previously coached girls and boys basketball at OMS and have been the head coach of the softball team all 7 years of our school's existence. My passion has always been to teach and coach. I am very family oriented and I that’s how I tend to pattern my teaching style. I want my classroom to feel warm and open, yet challenging. I love my job and the smiling faces that greet me every day. My teaching philosophy begins with a smile, a positive attitude, and optimism that every child can be successful. I have one daughter, Josie, that is 11 years old. She a 6th gradestudent and cheerleader here at Oakland Middle School. I love being a mother and teach with the compassion that I want my Josie to be dealt with. Please remember, that I want what is best for your child, too. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions through out the year.
